Yes, we are still open
At DCS (Doncaster Container Storage), the health and safety of our team members and customers is our principle priority. Our Storage Facility, based at Carr Hill Road in Balby, Doncaster are not crowded and generally we have a low intensity of use. Which is why we are still open to the public, as long as we gain social distancing.
We’re Still Open and are Providing PPE for All Team Members
We have reviewed the updated Government’s advice and carried out risk assessments to confirm our stores remain COVID-19 compliant with appropriate measures. For Example, we have limited the number of team members on site at any one time and reduced our reception opening hours.
We have also:
- Provided Perspex barriers, floor distancing markers, face coverings, protective gloves, hand sanitisers and other washing facilities.
- only one customer allowed in a lift at a time
- we have intensified the daily cleaning levels of our storage facilities, especially in the most commonly touched point
- the vast majority of our team members drive, cycle or walk to work and we have encouraged more to follow suit
The Storage Facility are Monitored
Our Storage Facility is also monitored externally out of opening hours to provide additional customer service and maintain security. However, should customers have the need, they can still reserve a container, check-in and complete a move in documentation all online and without being present at our site in Doncaster.
We would ask our customers to be patient and to respect and observe our notices relating to these operational changes. Storage and distribution is listed as one of the businesses the Government has requested to remain open to support essential online and offline retail.
We are Supporting Key Workers
A significant proportion of our customers are businesses including distributors of medical and other essential supplies and household items. We include the NHS and other public sectors amongst our customers. We are also assisting food retailers and wholesalers requiring storage of non-perishable foods.
In addition, we have customers who have had a sudden need for short term storage triggered by the lockdown. Many of these are businesses whose retail outlets or distribution hubs have closed and therefore have an emergency need for the storage of surplus stock and equipment. In addition, many are small entities using our services as mini logistics for e-tailing and online selling of essential goods.
